Preliminary Home Studies
The preliminary home study report is a detailed description of the prospective adoptive family. The report includes information about the background and current thought processes of the prospective parents. Answer home study questions in as much detail as possible! The more details you provide the better your home study will be.
Adoptive Parent Education
The state of Florida requires prospective adoptive parents to show proof that they have participated in adoption education. This can take place at the home visit or by other arrangements.
Referral to Adoption Attorney
If you need assistance in finding an adoption attorney, please let me know! I would be happy to refer you to an adoption attorney in the area.
Post Placement Supervision
Once the child is placed in your home you are required to have one post placement visit and report conducted by a licensed professional per month until the adoption is finalized. This is usually completed by the same licensed professional that completed the preliminary home study.
Post Placement Counseling
Adjusting can sometimes be difficult. Sometimes we simply need a listening ear, and other times we need tools to assist us as we make transitions in our lives. The addition of children to your family is a worthy reason to ensure your toolbox is full.
Birth Mother Assessment and Counseling
Choosing adoption is a brave decision. Choosing adoption is a difficult decision. No matter the reason, when a woman feels she can't care for her child choosing adoption is one of the most loving decisions she can make. Birth mother pre-placement counseling can assist in determining her competency in the decision, and post-placement counseling can assist the birth mother in adjusting to living life without parenting her child.
